* Jeff & Kelly did a great job putting on the Inaugural CATnip 5K & Mouse Miler. Music, great vendors, nice raffle, Chipotle tacos as part of the post race food
* Good rolling course with a diabolical last 1/3 mile up a steep embankment leading up to a lap on the high school track. I never knew the Woodhaven neighborhood had quite so many roads or turns
* Racing on a Friday is kind of fun since "technically", you're done for the weekend. That is if you aren't training for longer endurance events
* It was a really deep field considering it was a first time event but then it was the final race in the club's summer series and a lot of the local area fastholes were attracted to the street mile
* I still love racing as speedwork
* 5Ks are evil. They.hurt.every.step.of.the.way.

* I may have run my most evenly paced 5K given the surprise hills in the final mile. Positive split but I always do that. I didn't PR but I'm not training for the shorter stuff
* I am willing to leave my still beating heart at the bottom of the aforementioned steep embankment and kick hard just so I can beat the woman who so smugly passed me numerous times in the park

* Nathan runs just like Chad. You can hear him from 3/4 mile away. Clop, clop, clop.....
* He has a tendency to start out like me, too fast. He opened up his mile at 8:30 which didn't last long but he's pretty darn fast for a five-year-old even beating some grown-ups
